2. Aquatic Entre Rios Ecopark

Entre Ríos Ecopark is located in the municipality of Caluco in the department of Sonsonate, El Salvador, just 40 minutes from San Salvador. This important tourist spot in the country covers an area of 12 hectares. Here, both the abundant vegetation and the amenities, such as pools, giant water slides, thermal pools, picnic areas and an aquarium for guests to go fishing, offer an unforgettable experience. 

The attractions of Entre Ríos include 14 swimming pools, 4 water births, 7 springs and 2 rivers with running water, not to mention the 2 slides and 2 interactive pools, 3 soccer fields, a basketball court and a 6-meter wall for those with a penchant for extreme sports. 

Furthermore, guests can relax in the natural gardens, cabins or roundabouts, and enjoy a delicious specialty of the House – the Indian hen soup – while picnicking. 3. Termos del Rio

On a Saturday, the park is neat and tidy but not overly saturated with people. We always enjoy visits to Termos in El Salvador, since there is a plethora of activities to partake in and all of it is priced reasonably for the hot weather. 

It’s a must-see spot, particularly if you’re traveling with children. For a buck, you can borrow items such as a hammock, a shelter, a grill, and a table, although you will need to leave an identification card for a few of the pieces. Hot spring pools, horseback riding, a train that circles the park, soccer fields, a large picnic area, ziplining, a variety of pools, and captivating entertainment are all available. 

It is surely a fun place that you cannot afford to miss, with an entrance fee of about five dollars per person. They offer various restaurants, including Pollo Campero, where you can find delicious food and ice cream. You can even bring your own food and cook it onsite if you prefer.

4. Manatiales De Jiboa

5. Amapulapa Water Park

Amapulapa is a recreational area situated close to San Vicente, sixty kilometers east of San Salvador. The lushness of this natural park is found in its volcanic soil, a mix of ash and lava, out of which many water springs emerge and irrigate the grounds. The flora consists of the giant and picturesque Amates trees that provide abundant foliage adorning the area. The area is made of volcanic ash and lava, which gives it a unique richness.

This park offers numerous amenities including four designated swimming pools for adults, a water slide, three pools for children with interactive games, rest areas, picnic areas, cabins, parking, restaurants, an amphitheater, a multipurpose court for sports, to name a few. Furthermore, the park is decorated with los Amates, a type of tree. There are four pools for adults and four for children. 

A cafeteria and eight picnic areas allow visitors to eat El Salvadorian cuisine. For the sports enthusiast, there is a soccer field and a basketball court. The park is open from Wednesday to Sunday from nine in the morning to five in the afternoon. The entry fee for adults is one dollar. Children and elderly people are free.

To get to Amapulapa, travelers should take the road to San Vicente, which leads to Zacatecoluca and vice versa. If traveling on the coast road, travelers should manage to find the detour to San Vicente, Tecoluca and then the turn-off to the Park. The 177 bus from the East Terminal will stop at the junction, from which a pickup can take visitors to the Park.

6. Wet’n Wild

One of the most popular water park in El Salvador is Wet ‘n Wild Aquatic Park, located in the capital city of San Salvador. This park is known for its thrilling water slides, wave pools and interactive water playgrounds. It also has a variety of restaurants and snack bars, so you can refuel after a long day of fun. 

7. Toma de Quezaltepeque

Quezaltepeque is a water park situated to the northwest of the city of Quezaltepeque in the Liberty Department, at a distance of about 25 km from the capital of San Salvador. The leisure park covers an area of 82 acres and is rich in natural potential due to the blanket of lava or volcanic rock which serves as a water reservoir, resulting in crystal-clear water that allows the growth of vegetation which can only be seen in this part of the country, as well as different species of insectivorous plants. 

Quezaltepeque has two swimming pools for adults, a pool for children, a modern slide, an artificial lake, family cabins, picnic areas, fast food outlets, football and basketball courts, and a parking lot which can accommodate a lot of vehicles, with police security. 

The water park is open all year round. It is free for children under 10 and people over 60 years of age. To reach the park, you can take the number 109 bus from the East Terminal in San Salvador, which will take you to Quezaltepeque. You can then take the urban 71 bus or alternatively take a motorcycle taxi to the destination.

8. Parque Acuatico

Finally, if you’re looking for a more relaxed water park experience, then you should check out Parque Acuatico El Puente. Located in the city of San Miguel, this park is known for its relaxing swimming pools, lazy river and interactive water playground. It also has a variety of restaurants and snack bars, so you can refuel after a long day of fun. 

Visitors can rent rooms for the day, which boast a bathroom with shower, air conditioning, wardrobe, dressing table and cable television. Children can enjoy the interactive games in the pool while families can zip down the two 12.65 meter curvy slides, with a fall time of around 3 seconds.

9. Ichanmichen water park

Ichanmichen Water Park, located in the municipality of Zacatecoluca in La Paz Department, is a popular destination for fun and entertainment in the Central region of El Salvador. Easily accessible from San Salvador, the park is reachable by both the coastal CA-2 route and the ‘old street’ route. Alternatively, take bus route 133 from San Marcos South Terminal, and then take route 92 to the recreation centre.

Recently remodeled, Ichanmichen includes swimming pools for adults and 7 for children, ponds, picnic areas, family cabins and dressing rooms, a football field and basketball court, as well as a parking area. Following the renovations, a playground with a water slide has been added to the park. Areas of greenery and expansive gardens have also been included in the improvements.
